Action Cameras is SA's leading specialist in cameras designed for extreme sports (GoPro, Drift, iON, etc). We run a storefront in Randburg and a successful e-commerce website which caters for the entire country.
Through 2012 we visited a handful of events and expos which proved to be incredibly successful, some of which included The AMID Bike Show, The Getaway Show, the Dive Show, 94.7 MTB Expo and others. We are now looking for someone to manage and grow the events side of the business.
The role would include:
- Selecting the best events (three or four events per month),
- Planning the events from start to finish,
- Completing and submitting financial summaries,
- Managing sales processes and cash on hand,
- Managing the logistics around set up and break down,
- Training and managing sales staff
- Establishing and managing nationwide teams to run events elsewhere in SA,
The role would require most of the work to be done over weekends when the events take place. Work hours during the week will be flexible (hours to be agreed upon). You would be required to travel around Gauteng and surrounding regions and may need to spend weekends at event locations. Own transport required.
Requirements:
- Five years or more in events planning / management
- An independent & can-do attitude is a prerequisite
- An entrepreneurial mindset
A basic salary of R12,000 will be offered plus a profit sharing commission structure will be agreed upon for sales generated at events. Claimable travel costs regarding to the events will be covered.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of this and run with it with the aim of growing sales and the Action Cameras brand. In return you would receive a share in this growth through the profit sharing commission structure.
