It's been a long time since I've used photobucket, so here goes ........................

What I bought was this, plus the loose wheels. The more I looked at it the more my heart sank as I realised how much work was needed.

Since the I've spent quite a bit of time stripping it down and cleaning. Luckily, being an MX bike there's not that many parts so the rebuild was coming along nicely ...................

POST OFFICE STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got loads of spares sitting somewhere waiting to get to me.

So, in the interim, the powder coating's done and I've built what I can

The seat and tank are there just to make it look like something. The seat will be recovered and the tank cleaned properly. How to make white again??

And now to the motor - had a hell of a time getting the flywheel off but now I'm beyond that. I'm off to Malaysia for 2 weeks so all is on hold for now - the engine is stripped and ready for cleaning and painting when I get back.

And hopefully my first batch of spares has arrived  :thumleft:

So, moving on, I've got the motor in and it's got spark - and compression - so all it needs is fuel

But I'm struggling to find an exhaust for it, though not really struggling coz I haven't really tried yet

I'm busy with the back wheel at the moment - fighting to lace this one - the front was a lot easier

The motor was a real ball-ache - stripping 30 year old parts took it's time. I replaced all seals, inside and out and a couple bearings. The gearbox still had a bit of oil so all seems good in there. The crank was seized solid - couldn't move - was full of old rat piss and shit I've cleaned it up and repaired what I could so hopefully it stays together once (if) it starts.

The forks were re-built but I've done nothing to the shock other than cleaning

All parts including crankcases and shock were treated in the dishwasher - allways wondered what that thing was for. The oven and freezer were used to ake things come apart and fit back together again.

Anyways, it's getting close now - I need it ready for the next VMX race
