I wonder if Sarel v Biljon will be racing in the quads again next year? He really did us proud. Well, all the boys did, but I don't think anyone foresaw him coming out of nowhere to harass the leaders like that.

Came across this site whilst Googling to see if there are any of the new Honda Rallye bikes on sale yet:

http://www.rallymanagementservices.com/pages/sample-budget-for-the-dakar-rally

What is interesting, they recon $15000 for a full blown Ktm 450 rally conversion like Darksider just sold for about $6500 (including the bike) The lucky owner got a hell of a deal!

You definitely got to have deep pockets for this sport!

He told me that he would only do it again if he found proper sponsorship.  He reckons it was a bit "costly" .... but he is working on it.

Ja, I can imagine it wasn't cheap, really hope he can find a sponsor, pity the DAKAR gets so little SA coverage.

David Reeve is in for 2014.
It must feel wonderful and simulataneously terrifying to get that letter. Kind of like un-winning the Lottery, where instead of getting a few hundred thousand you have to pay it in.
I'm glad his entry was accepted, and I hope he makes it all the way this time.  :thumleft:
