What a pleasant surprise after the let down of the new TA, it looks the business, excepting the bash plate as usual.

And the bash plate does not protect all, that oil filter and gubbins hanging off the front of the motor it will need attention.

It somehow doesn,t look that "tough" but with a proper set of engine bars, proper pegs and maybe the bash mounted at the engine bar points it could be good.

The dak style tank though, doesn,t give many options for increasing capacity.

The paddock stand is not pretty maybe an option, they are ugly, but that type of stand is easier to use and does not sink in as easily as the straight leg ones.

On the whole not bad, the chain drive looks good, but no it is conventional and not axial with the swingarm.

And why doesnt it have one of those horrible rear wheel hugger things like they have on the others???

All the bits everyone is raving about have been coming stock on KTM's for years. Buy a 950/990 and get it over and done with and you won't have to compromise.

Bash plate and exhaust are a load of bollocks.
Other than that I actually like this a lot.

a really good looking bike. and with the new yammie, the only 'proper' ds looking bike. personally if it's got the same electrical system as the 1200 - no thanks. and the price, after all the farkles have been added, might just be the same as a 990 ???

Very very nice. But what about the price?

Would the belt option of the ST not be a possibilty?

mmmm  - we may have found DotP's new bike. ;)

Wonder how much trade we will get for a 1150R.

She will need to compare the two - and see if she is happy with the performance compared to the R. ;D

ticks most of the right boxes but not gonna be in a hurry for
it
give it a couple of years for them to sort all the kark out first
hopefully by then the canbus software will be as upgraded as possible
and we might have learned enough about how it all works to solve a few possible problems on our own

Something doesn't make sense. IF it weighs 178kgs dry, 16 l of fuel weighs about 14 kg, oil about 3kg and about the same for water - which gives a wet weight of about 198kg - not 207kg?
Also 400kms from 16l is 25km/l - wow!?

regarding price the current 800S/ST go for 85k/92k respectively, so I'd imagine this would be round there somewhere?

kev, so THIS is the thread you were talking about  ;D i was confused

i love the headlight! a throw back to the K1200R, which is one of my favourites

black is easy to do - just respray the plastics ;)

in short - i want one.

o and if you look at all the pics you get an idea of what options are available, eg, tall screen
