Vietnam - Info and media thread
« on: February 01, 2013, 11:40:39 am »
Heya!

So I figured I would start up a thread to brain dump lots of info about Vietnam and any questions other dogs have about this country.

Some background from my side: I have been living in Ho Chi Minh City as of October 2010 and am (February 2013) still here. There seems to be an increasing interest in guys doing trips out this way, I have in fact met one WD already here and soon to be another with MrBig.

Always happy to help out any other dogs.

Hit em with your question stick  O0

more info to come, just a place holder for now while I collect pics and what not...

Down in the South where I live, in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), you get two seasons: summer and winter... the only real difference is that it rains in summer and not in winter.

This is a clip from yesterday, we had a braai and pool day at my apartment (mid winter)

ps: its worth the watch in HD

There are loads of custom bikes that get made out this side of the pond too, they do how ever fetch high prices amongst the expats and local guys with dosh.. like starting price of $3000 for a 200cc - 250cc

Still they are pretty..

Thanks for the info piece!! I spent 2006 in Ho CHi Minh City - loved it so much that in 2010 I did a motorcycle trip with my boet, starting in HCMC along the coast to Mui Ne and up to Dalat, up following HCM Trail, then to the coast to Hoi Anh, up over the Hai Van Pass (bloody incredible) and ending in Hue. Such an epic place.

Klapped 1600km on 110cc Hondas in 2 weeks.
Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time. I dont have this luxury.
