Mine is a 1962 model and  four years older than the driver!! ;)
Still goes strong everyday.

Robert was jy al daar by die trekker museun in Villiersdorp in daar agter Kelkiewyn ?

Indien nie, laat Rooipoot jou eendag daar in vat en die stories agter die trekkers vertel.

Daai sonbrille plaas haar in 'n ander klas as die gemiddelde trekker drywer...  ;D

The Fordson Majors were very though tractors.
Only weak part was the starter and that is why in my area you still see them parked on a hill
to runstart them!! :deal:


yes, that is why one of the first things I did was change the standard starter to a starter from a truck...much better...
 the diff lock in the rear was for its day a mechanical marvel. they don't come tougher !

Around here they fit the Ford 5000 starter and never have a problem again.
In Bitterfontein is a farmer that fitted a Ford truck six silinder engine in his Fordson.
He pulls a 18 disk John Shearer plough behind it.
I asked and what about the gearbox and diff?
He says if it havent broken in ten years it never will will it?

Hahaha Ja operator ek ken die trekker museum en ek ken ook die voorsitter van veteraan klub. Ek het 'n groot liefde vir die ou goed. "n pel van my het 'n ou CAT padskraper van 1934 wat nog werk. Old School is cool school ;D

Here's mine, a bit newer than ChrisL's one. I think its early 70's, but also still going strong.
