2 "COKES" on the trailer ??????????

Yeah.. Something I was wondering about as well.. Only thing I can think of was that as usual, Stoetie doesn't let go of that Amstel can while it is even slightly charged..  :imaposer:

Some really excellent pictures on this thread. :hello2:

Here are some of my personal favourites, hopefully not too many.

20 minutes from our house in Lima

Day trip close to Lima, whatever you do don't look down!

Mrs Bluebull thinks the KTM is too high.

But she rides it like she stole it.  ;D

Looking from 4,900m up to 6,800m - Huscaran, the highest mountain in the Peruvian Andes

Close to a silver mine I worked at in the Cordillera de Blanca (4,800m)

Resuscitating a drowned bike, Goiania, Brazil

Lashing on a nav. tower, Palmas, Brazil. Looks like Kranskop to me.

Miss Bluebull learning to ride the first time.

Mrs BB in the mountains of Ecuador

Mrs BB keeping clear of the edge 3,500m up into the mountains of Junin, central Peru

At 4,500m Junin, central Peru. The remoteness was scarey.

Ok, that's some serious altitude! How do the bikes perform? And how do you guys breathe!

Ok, that's some serious altitude! How do the bikes perform? And how do you guys breathe!

Its best to re-jet the carbureted bike once above 2,000m but you can get away with playing with idling screws and stuff up to about 3,500m or so. Its bit of bitch trying to keep the bike running that way but it can be done.

The fuel injected bikes are superb, the lambda sensors automatically adjust the mixture but you still lose about 25% power. Having said that I have clocked 198 on the GPS riding a straight bit thanks to the lower wind resistance at that altitude. It feels like the bikes gearing is changing the higher you ride.

I get altitude sickness every time I go high, but a Panado and some hard sucking sweets make it bearable until I have acclimatized (about a day). Its funny though: On a bike its easier I think because of the cold air blowing in your face. When I'm riding it is fine, but when I stop I start to feel really kak.

Thanks, Wayne and Beseker. Brings back many fond memories.
My last solo 5 000 km trip last year wasn't as memorable, even though it had more challenges..........
Baviaans, with Jupiter. I didn't want to travel through alone, so Jup made a special effort to accompany me.
