Tyre advice again - TKC for DRZ

So I wanted to fit a metzeler sahara 3 to the DRZ as its got good road grip and nice self cleaning tread pattern, making it usefull for pretty much anything. Metzeler has a 2 month backlog on this tyre allready. tyre size is 120 on a 18" rim. Do they make a TKC in that size or what aggressive dualsport tyre do you suggest in this size?

Ok, just foud that they make this size 120/90 - 18 M/C 65R TT M+S   TKC 80
now to find stock. anybody here got stock?

i have metzeler sahara 3 on my dakar and must say i'm very happy!!!

dirt tractions is very good and tar road holding is also very good

just did 2200km to the hogsback bash and thought they would be toast

2000km of the 2200km was tar at 130km/h

they are still looking sweet with 7000km+ on them at the moment

i should get 10000km+ out of the rear and close to 20000km out of the front i recon...

I'm nat having much luck at the moment finding the tyres I want. I have however found a T63, which should be nice for the DR.

One tyre to get , Dunlop D606. 21 and 18 rear should be easy to locate.

D606. I have 4000 km on the rear almost toast. The front will do 6000 - 7000 km. Plus they are cheap. Oh yes I run a 15 - 44 gearing, good for 160 km/h and the motor turns 6100 rpm at a steady 120 km/h. Still plenty of power left for technical riding with this gearing.

Thanks for the gearing tip. Will go and check out sprockets this weekend.

Kings KT 966. Bit more towards road than the D606. Lasts longer (much). Still very good on hardpack / gravel. Ok on soft ground on light bikes (max 650cc). A dream on Mrs. LeCap's Djebel 200 (3.00-21 and 4.10-18)
Relatively soft compound lets the rear shed blocks when spun permanently. Aggravated by fitting the wrong way around. Direction of front important too. Will wear awkwardly and feel like buggered steering head bearing if fitted the wrong way 'round.

I found the KT966 front to have poor grip on dirt, caused me three crashes while I had them. No problems with the 606's.

The DRZ is not "bit more towards road"
D606 work well on the tar and very well offroad.

Not sure about 5th but it does in fourth.
