I only recently started skipping.

As I approach, I assess the situation, then I decide - to skip or pay. If I can get past the boom in a closed lane, I go for it, otherwise I pay.

I have skipped toll gates by tail gating the car infront of me. The alarm does not go off.
I ride with a legal number plate and have never received a fine or letter from the tolling company.

The cameras are normally installed to take a video of the front of the vehicle as you pass through the gate, I also ride with a legal number plate and have never received anything from them.

Sorry to the few that pay. I won't pay the same price as a car. And from a corrupt enterprise that took money from the pension fund. And we also pay tax to corrupt government. No thanks won't pay.

I have never and will never pay for tolls untill the toll companies take a serious look at their fees.
I find it silly paying the same tolls as a vehicle or vehicle with trailer for that matter
My bike weighs less than 350Kg's filled with fuel and with me on it
The reason for tolls is for the tollcompany to maintain the roads
Main causes of roads needing repairs and maintenance is weight and overloading

I just pull up behind a vehicle - preferrably a taxi and tailgate through behind him ignoring the toll booth operator's frantic gestures and screams
Then i just smile as the bells go off and ride off
Who is going to fine you? - the toll road police?
asseblief man......get real - there is no such thing as a traffic offence connected with toll roads
They are private companies and have Nada to do with any or all police or Metro cops

Untill they conform and give us better prices.................F@ck them! :thumleft:

Planned routes to skip tollgates...

But when I need to go through one, asses the situation, yes I stop to remove number plate... riding offroad, "convincing the traffic officer that it got lost on some bad gravel road along the trip" is easy to sell...  :ricky: If there is no proof it helps...

The biker lane, on the left side of the gate, between the abnormal boom, is wide enough, even for a GSA's handle bars... if there is a cone, thats why the GSA is fitted with crashbars...  :peepwall:

The companies doing the toll fees need to consider the impact on the road from bikes, 2 wheels, is not the same as vehicles with four wheels... why pay the same?!  :xxbah:

i wonder if any biker associations have brought this matter to the N3TC or tolling companies. i wonder what their rationale would be to bundle bikes with cars and other "light vehicles"?????

well maybe the issue should be raised again, as I would love an explanation on why e-tolls have a 40% discount for bikes and not the normal tolls - doesn't make sense, to me at least
