Husqvarna is alive, Husaberg is no more
« on: April 08, 2013, 05:36:31 pm »
After a discussion with a factory insider, I learned that Husaberg production will not start again, as has already been done with the Husaberg Power parts - apparel etc. So no new 2014 Husabergs. Stefan Pierer's plan is to continue KTM and Husqvarna production. Articles that appeared at Italian websites insisted that ALL Husky models (including the BMW engined) will continue for 2014. Unions are strong in Italy.
So, after so many years, and after Husaberg as a Husqvarna spin-off helped create the hugely successful RFS models, the circle closes: Husaberg is needed no more, and Husqvarna will be KTM's alter ego. And if they are smart, new Husky models will have their unique features, and be clearly differentiated from KTMs.

Just wonder if this news will be Husaberg going back into the Husky side or end of the Husaberg---BMW engine continue  ??? Gets stranger by the day

Does this also mean we may see This man on a Husky ??

Gees, one wonders if they actually know wtf they're doing. Now I'm really glad I never bought a Husaberg 300, it was touch and go.
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

This is a sad day in deed.
So, after so many years, and after Husaberg as a Husqvarna spin-off helped create the hugely successful RFS models, the circle closes:
Well said.
I loved my Husaberg but will not own another..not after reading this!

People just buy a Honda, you know it's a proper Honda built in Japan with a Japanese motor and all :peepwall:

Husaberg are fantastic bikes but I think owning one in the future will become a major headache, pity really. Hopefully some specialized companies will continue to support the brand. Maybe it will be bought back by the Swedes.

My current Honda was built in Indonesia. The previous one in Canada.
Why do things that only happen to stupid people always happen to me?

Maak nie saak waar hulle my 450X gebou het nie, die bou kwaliteit is beter as enige iets anders!
