Still thinking of going down tomorrow after 13;00 when I close the dealership.
Even for one night and the Mass ride will be worth it... :ricky:

Read my thread going to Pinetown yesterday, in a cage.
Back in the direction of JHB - 14h00 to 18h30, non stop bikes, all the way.

I was jealous, I was sad, I wanted to ride so bad, even if around the canals or something.

Preparations well under way  ;D

Last night rigged up a aux power point under the seat for pump and charging cell/gps etc.

Strapped bedroll on the back of Bus, camp gear (tents/matresses/coolbag) for me and buddy will be picked up today to go in a back up car.

Getting a set of soft panniers later today for clothing etc and then we are ready to roll  ;D

Oh yes and the HD guys are doing some "hard riding" and arriving in numbers  :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

GP Harleys BB,all my mates have ridden up from Cape Town. The blow time my bike has been on a trailer is when I had a bad cut in my rear tyre. I do not see the point of not riding.
And if the missus is not keen to ride all that way, she can fly, cost the same as pulling a bike with a gas guzzler.

I got to Margate around 09:00 and the streets were still kind of empty, most of the bikes having left for the Mass Ride from Shelly Beach.

The whole beach front road was only open to bikes and obviously it being a Harley thing most of everything was Harley. It was impressive!

Would not even dare to ask these guys for information - Some look like "The morning After"

Really neat Harley with a magic paint job

Wow!

Look at the clutch on this bike - amazing that they even moved. You push that long arm forward to tension the leather drive belt

Harleys and more Harleys

This one STOLE THE SCENE as the most photographed Harely

Unfortunately one could not get clean shots of the bikes.

Sorry no photos of the mass ride. I was on my way out already, but it was impressive hundreds, no thousands of bikes.

It was certainly worth the visit. Hope the Dogs who were in Margate enjoyed the jol!
