My drive shaft went at 30 000 km's and a new one flown out and fitted under warranty from Germany! NO fuss no argument - thanks Steve at Northside BM!
Surprise surprise the new one has a drainage sump and is not a "never maintain unit". Appears that there is a problem with the non maintenance unit and BM have quietly changed it!
I would recommend that any 1200 GS's out there ask your dealer to inspect the oil levels at services... this is where the problem is.
