Mooch, I think you have a valid point, and I also think that you will be able to more clearly then devide the riders into those who sometime in their life get onto gravel (KTM) and the posers (BMW).

Although you get real slabbers who rides KTM's and BMW's for the sitting position too.

I think BMW's proven record as regards to service and after sales service will retain many new prospective buyers. I saw a new GS yesterday and it looks a lot nicer in the flesh. I have yet to see the KTM out and about.

I have to agree, but KTM needs a sales strategy of getting people to test drive an 1190, after that I guarantee the rest is history..... beemer is strong on image and brand....
