So I recently bought a DR650 2011, since I got the bike I was riding with the PRI switch selected. After some research I learned it can cause alot of damage if left in PRI position, especially if you flood the carb. So this morning I took her for a test ride. In the ON position i get about 22km then she backfires and dies, cant start her again in ON position. Switch to PRI and all is fine. So I cant do a continuous drive in ON.

Is the "petcock"?? faulty, should I replace it??
Can it harm the bike leaving it in the PRI position while riding and switching to ON/RES when bike is standing?
