Bush Workshop at Hamman Motorrad Today
« on: May 13, 2006, 11:54:17 am »
There will be a bush workshop demonstration at Hamman Motorrad (former Trefco shop) today.
The workshop will start at 13:00 and end at around 15:00. It is free and so is the coffee. Boerries are not...

Bush repairs such as changing tyres and fixing odds and ends will be demostrated by a guy named Johan...

Anyone with any brand of bike who can make it should pop in and catch some tips. I thought I'd share it with everyone here because it seems like a good opportunity. Sorry it is such short notice, I only heard about it this morning.
No I am not paid by Hamman to post this and I have to affiliation with them.

BTW: I will have some stickers with me if any of you capies can make it.

On a side issue:

For those that are interrested. I had the owner of the shop stand an Adventure and a GS up next to each other while I crawled under them with a tape measure. Both bikes had their suspension set up exactly the same (softest/lowest settings). Both bikes are fully fuelled.
The GS has a ground clearance of 21cm and the Adventure is 23cm
We did not measure them on the stiffest setting because the Adventure belongs to a client who will pick it up later and we didn't want to screw around with his bike.

Eish, could have picked up a sticker, had I know about it and not been playing  hockey at the time.  :? LS, let me know (see PM) how we should proceed with the 'exchange' :)

BTW is it your 1200gsa that is standing there?

Nope... I wish

Mine is on the third cargo ship due end of July
White and black with a red and black seat - No ABS but with heated grips

paid my deposit and now waiting :(

Between you and me... I don't know if it's worth robbing a bank to trade in a GS for a GSA. I'm just doing it because 'my gat jeuk'
I suspect that a GS with Ohlins and better gear lever will beat a GSA offroad. There is almost too few differences to go from a standard GS to a GSA.

My penis must be smaller than most men because I am buying after size it seems
My wife has never complained but I think she married me for my bike anyway

The beauty about owning a bike or bikes, you don't have to justify what bike you like, if it tickles your fancy then you get it   :P Even if your GSA never sees a piece of dirt, and it makes you smiles every time you get on it, it's fine.

The ADV has bigger tank, and better suspension, that's it. Well basically....I still want one

Or a HP2 :D

Michnus has gone all soft? wow.

cant wait to see you in 30 years....
very minute is a chance to turn it all around - Vanilla Sky
