My 2 cents...................... its the battle of the cheque book

Its's a pity that the Dakar/ Marathoen racing is limited to these 450cc bikes, as no manufacturer is going to build the ultimate DS bike suited for our conditions inless there is a motorsport need for them.

Example
KTM 950SE, BMW HP2.
Realistically we have only one choice if you're doing 80% dirt.

The costs of developing customer versions of other bikes to suit the needs of the more Dirt Sport type of rider is too great and the market is too limited............... they say.................!!!!!!!!!!!

manufacturers have built the ultimate DS bike.. I just can't afford it.  :deal:
