Murch Point, Nieu-Bethesda
« on: June 05, 2013, 09:27:35 pm »

" Murch Point, the highest peak in the Northern Cape, 2156 metres,  12 hours from Cape Town. Take route 62 until the N9, take a left to Aberdeen and a dirt road to the farm called Compassberg, not to be mistaken with the mountain called Kompasberg."

The co-ordinates do not seem correct though.

Compassberg is shown on googlemaps but is in the EC. It looks like the mountains just north from it.

Florider and myself had an awesome indoor braai with all the hot and cold salads you could think off at the tennis club (old school) on Saturday evening in Nieu Betesda with the locals and some of them said with arrangement they would open the gates to the Compasberg.
We did not do it on Sunday as light snow started falling in the farmlands and rain in town.

It seems like I've got to brush up on my tennis skills and join the Nieu-Bethesda club for a bit of CSi work there, maybe also get some of that good food, and hopefully meet the gatekeeper with the keys.. ;)

Too much anti freeze  (OBs) killed the memory cells and I did not take any numbers as they told me all the residents know each other we just phone/email anyone of the B&Bs/shops and they will help.  :-[  ::)
