Ok we are so lucky to have a second trip in a week’s time, this time to Dullstroom.
We started a bit earlier as the day looked quite warm. When we got to Bronkhorstspruit the mist was terrible and the temperature dropped drastically. It took the sun until after 10 to burn the mist away and with the help of a little OBS we were fine. Just after Bronkies we turned right to get on the dirt roads. Its only a little detour, but its dirt and better than tar. (R907)
We got on the Verena road again for a short while and turned to Zustersfontein for the dirt road that winds next to the mountain. We stopped for a cold one at our normal place where we crossed the Wilgeriver.
We got on a little tar again and turned onto the road that passes the Loskop nature reserve on the north side. Its road with long straights and one can make ride at high speed without worrying to much about holes and rocks.
We had a beer and stocked up on our supplies for the road at Loskop (Bospot).
One nice looking butterfly: (Foxy Charaxes)
We took the gravel road to Stoffberg, with off course a beer stop or two. By this time I think we knew we were not going to make it back to Pta on the same day.
We passed Stoffberg and got got onto a two spoor road. Look at the grass and the height, probably 2.5 meters high. I love veld grass.
Happy times:
Which turned into a decent gravel road that goes to Korfnek:
And our bikes on Korfnek:
Arriving in Dullstroom we luckily got somewhere to stay Old Transvaal Inn and we could park the bikes right outside our door.
We had the following, not in any particular order or amounts:
The next morning it was freezing outside in Dullstroom!!! Everything was white from the frost.
On our way back we stopped to get another cold beer:
Then a beer and lunch at the Bospot:
Kaaings and a cheerburger
Last stop before the long tar road home:
It was a very nice two days and with only one little incident:
