I seem to have a problem with my clutch  :xxbah:

When the bike is cold and I try to start it in 1st gear with the clutch fully pulled, the bike lurches forward.
When I start it in neutral, and then engage 1st gear, with clutch fully pulled, quite a loud "clacking" sound is heard as the gear engages.

Once the bike has warmed up to operating temperature, all is fine.

From what I understand the clutch is auto adjusting....

The 1000km service has been done.

Any ideas?

This is quite normal, all my bikes have done that  :thumleft:

Always start in neutral, pull in the clutch and before you engage first give it a little rev for the clutch plates to separate, wait a second or two and then engage 1st. It should pop in without any sound  :thumleft:

My 990 does the same. I would not worry. Do what BLY suggests. Are you enjoying the 1190?

thanks Guys!  :thumleft:
It was just never that noticeable on my previous bikes... Once warmed up, she's as smooth as a babies behind - the gearbox really is fantastic and gearing up or down is really silky smooth

I love the bike!
Handles VERY well and has more power than most will ever use :o - I was also surprised how fuel efficient she is when treated well - better than my Super Tenere! When you gun her though, she turns into a bit of a heavy drinker  ;) ;D

A lot of bike's clutches drag if you start them in gear when cold, always start in neutral when cold.
If you can keep your head in the midst of all this confusion, you don't understand the situation!

My 1190 does the same. It jumps forward. Adjusted on the lever, but did not help much.

Wanted to ask the dealer about it, but now I dont have to anymore  :thumleft:

I also noticed when I start my S10 when it is cold, it behaves differently.  I suspected it is the cold and not the bike  :sip:
