Hi Alducor,

"I took Mambat, Safaritruck (He at least needs pain meds from the ambulance) and rynet with to the farm house, where we were told that the ambulance would take a while, and Mambat was in dire straights."

I also sat in pain phoning a doctor at the kitchen table in Oom Giel's farmhouse just outside Verneukpan 2x weeks before. One of those gravel/sand humps caught me out big-time!  (Still nursing the pain through rehab physio and can't ride my bike - ek's nog lekker moedeloos daaroor jong... )

Hi Peeg,

I think everyone was talking about you and Bring It On, and where you fell. This should have been a warning sign. Verneukpan is not to be taken lightly. The nearest proper hospital is in Upington, and Kenhardt only has one ambulance, that services a small little clinic in a vast area, that can't even do anything about broken bones.

Good luck with the recovery. I know the pain, and time... I was there in december, and still recovering.
Be patient, and heal well, I'm not on my bike yet and its been 7 months (right hand fingers).

Right gents, all of you that got caught out near Verneukpan (and Alducor) let's sing - all together now: "...♪ ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ ♫ ♪ I get knocked down but I get up again♪ ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ ♫ ♪..."

Singing loudly mate!

 :ricky:

Whaa, what a good laugh I had right now! :spitcoffee: :spitcoffee: :spitcoffee:

I made a terrible mistake...I drove Mambat's Widowmaker to a ramp today to load it onto the bakkie. FAARK, if a crooked KTM ride like that :o I dont wanna be on a normal one.  Shit, Im gonna dream about serious oranges tonight. Those Leo's were music in my ears. ;D
Eet vleis! 'n 1 000 000 jakkalse kan nie verkeerd wees nie.

WKC and Jondu swapped bikes. Funny thing is, we all know that Jondu prefers the KLR, but has to have the GS for SWAMBO :deal:. So he does this thing where he acts like he is doing you a favour to let you ride his big boy GS while he takes your KLR... :pot:
WKC doesn't mind, being a plaas laaitie, he can ride anything that you give him...

:imaposer: :imaposer: Yes I cannot believe how much I'm enjoying my KLaRa. :biggrin: I didn't miss my GS1200 once this weekend , the KLR is so much easier when it gets technical . Anyway, these were not the kind of roads one wants to go too fast on  .  And even the tar going back home was less tiring riding at speed limit. Yes the KLR really has a big grin factor.  :ricky: :ricky:

Loving your RR , Alducor , you really write well .  Hope there will be another one coming soon :thumleft: :thumleft:

Aarde kyk hoe sit en geniet ek nou hierdie RR! Na aanleiding van my mooie vroutjie se opinie lei ek af dat die ouens dit geniet het!

Aldu, jou skryfstyl remind my aan iemand wat al baie lank op Stellenbosch bly.

Ek sou my linker klinker gee om so trip saam met my Pa te kon doen. Ek envy julle.

We loved the weekend Hingsding , even with all the excitement and drama. The Wilddog spirit really kicked in and people looked out for each other . You did well .  :thumleft: :thumleft: and I'm already looking forward to your next Verneukpan Bash next year.  :ricky:  :ricky:

And what a great family you are .  :thumleft: :thumleft:

It was wonderful meeting you Rynet! You are so inquisitive and a very good listener! It should be mandatory to have you at a bash, so that there is someone to take care of others the way you did.

Thanks Aldo and it was great meeting you too  ! Thanks again for driving all the way to Kenhardt with the two patients. And yes first time I've been in a vehicle with 3 men and had to open all the darn gates myself .  :imaposer:

You had a spellbound audience on the way back , your D in networking between farmer and farm workers / associations was a very interesting topic  :thumleft: We should have had you commenting on the De Doorns riots thread earlier this year , hope to see more of you and your family here on WD's and on rides.  :thumleft:

Good to hear Mr Toughman :thumleft:
Hope next time we meet it will be under better circumstances. I still shudder thinking of you sitting upright
with 7 broken ribs in front of a bakkie the whole night. Must have been hell  :eek7:

Hi Alducor! Will have to get together for beer soon. The bike will need a run every second week or so and Koekenaap sounds like a good distance. Chat soon again safe riding
