KTM 1190 Adventure
4 x brand new KTM1190Adv
1 x BMW R1200GS

4 of us picked up the KTM's on 17th April and it was a rush to run them in and have the 1st service done before the planned departure date of 21st April.
Needless to say with the full cooperation of the dealer (Raceworx - thanx) the KTM's were serviced on Saturday and departure was as planned on Sunday 21st April

1st stop was Messina, and after hearing nightmare stories of 5-7hour border crossings at Beit Bridge we were a bit worried, A transport company suggested to us that the best time to cross Beit Bridge is 04:00am. So we set off from Messina at 03:30am. For all 5 bikes the border crossing took 2 hours to complete the formalities on both sides.

After crossing the border we stopped for early morning roadside coffee.

We then stopped at the Lion and Elephant hotel for breakfast.

1st Night in Zim was at Lodge on the Ancient City, which is next to both the ruins and Lake Kyle.

From Lake Kyle we went to Vumba but took a 45km dirt track excursion to some bushman paintings enroute.

After Vumba we headed to Inyanga for a scheduled rest day, however the weather in the mountains was cold, wet, misty and the Lodge had no power for two days so we cut the rest day out and headed to Harare.

We spent one night in Harare and headed for Kariba where would have two rest days
We had one night at Caribea Bay hotel and two nights at Cutty Sark Hotel - we even hired a catamaran and went fishing

After a relaxing (bored) time in Kariba we had to be at the ferry terminal at 08:00. fortunately we were 1st loaded onto the ferry.
