After my Botswana border to Verneukpan and back trip I carefully washed and checked my bike.
Was a ride that really hammered my bike especially round the Vorstershoop area.
Some problems I found that needed attention:-
Rear light cluster rattled loose - refit with locktite
Front head light cluster had a small rattle
Two spokes on front rim needed tightening
Two rollers one above and one below chain were removed,cleaned and refitted
steering head bearings greased (just because bike is on 20000km odo )
All small things but if left unattended can spoil your next trip.
So don't just wash. Check while you are cleaning.
Very pleased with my airfilter set up. After this 3400km run not a speck of dust engine side of airfilter. Ran with 2 airfilters. Changed them just before return run.
Looking forward to my next trip to Vorstershoop now in Aug with confidence in my bike
