So I've now been riding my new 2009 R1200GSA for about a month.
I was riding a Harley before that so I'm used to hard, klunky gear changes. The BMW didn't seem much better and I queried this with my local BMW dealership (Clearwater) when I took it in for its 60k service two weeks ago. I was told: It's quite normal, the GS's have pretty hard gear changes. Okay dokey, I thought, not knowing any better.
Today I took it in again for new brakes and front-tire. Was given a loan bike (1200GS with almost 80k on the clock, don't know what year model). The gear changes are much smoother on this bike, especially when changing up. On mine they're really hard with an impressive "klunk", on the loan bike it's pretty quiet... just a little "snick".
I've asked the dealership to have another look, but I'm not holding by breath.
Anyone got some idea or suggestion what could be causing this?
