Photo Opportunities - Tell me what you're up to
« on: July 17, 2013, 10:56:39 am »
Let's see how this thread goes - could turn into a lekker sticky.

As a participant at events or out-rides you usually don't want to have a camera with you on the bike, so i figure you can "advertise" what's happening here and one of the photography Dogs can get out there and take some peechas while you make fools of yourselves/ride like a king/get stuck...

If you know of an event happening soon where novice/hobby photographers can rock up with their cameras for some great photo ops then list the details here!

I'm talking open track days, motocross/enduro events, large gatherings, out-rides with specific "interesting" sections (GPS co-ords?), training days, air shows...whatever.

Organised events often have specific rules about the public taking pictures so post them if you know them.

Bit of a thread title change. WTF boys & girls? Someone must be doing something within the next week or so that deserves to have some pics taken.

At this rate I might just wait at the top of Breedts for this bunch to arrive, or will there be a tricky/muddy section on the country trax ride?

Hey Gigz,

Damn, there was one small water crossing on the Country Trax ride... I would have loved a photo of that with my new scoot!

Good to be riding again, so let's keep in touch for the dirt rides.

Hey! Good to see you up & about again. My bike is overdue for a service + new chain & sprockets + bearings so I'll be keeping the riding to a minimum until that's sorted. Will definitely keep in touch though.

Any idea where the Country Trax thread was? I have a few pics to post...

I also battled to find it - it's under their Vendor board, not "planning a ride".

I know a few guys who have expressed interest in a ride up Sani pass first half of September, you keen for something like that?

I'll mention to post the ride in the right place to Country Trax on the link when I post the pics.

Thanks bud.

Eish; if I have the time (leave) and money for a bigger trip around that time of year then I'll be at the bash...in which case coming back from the bash via Sani would not be out of the question. Chances are looking pretty bleak at this point though  :P

Just want to say a big Thank You to Beemer Mike for getting me into the 4x4 shindig yesterday. I'm not sure what group/club the marshals belong to, but what a great bunch of people. I had a really good time, was welcomed with open arms (and offers of coffee), and got some good shots.

Give me some time to sift through them properly, and I'll post them under the 4x4 boards somewhere with a link here.

Cheers  :thumleft:

If you like 4x4 action you can always follow the Extreme 4x4 Racing bunch

Here is the link to their calendar

The Brits challenge is coming up next month. Usually a nice outing for a day(from Gauteng).

I used to be their photographer from 2005 to 2012 but stepped down since then.  Because it is a MSA sport the safety rules are quite strict but I was a registered photographer at MSA so I could get to where the normal photographers couldn’t and get better angles.
