honda crf 250???

PS.... that one in the photo is missing a sump-guard/bashplate and exhaust plate. check it out carefully.

On further look, a CRF230 doesn't have a rear disk brake.... might be a grey import??

Tommy, how suitable is it for a heavy oak (ja ja moi). I want to get something light to play with but are scared that the 230 is to small and I am a bit scared of the 450 (old bones and all that)
Can it do 100km/h on open gravel road?

Im convinced that its not a honda, one of my friends, whom know very little about bikes bought this, never rode it and he is still under the belief that its a honda

Slakkie... I've geared mine for slightly longer gearing, (higher top end.) I've seen 112km/hr on the gps. They handle well and are lekker fun! I weigh round about 90kg, and am 1.83m tall (6ft something).Coming from an AT and XR, you might find it a bit underpowered, but then it's only a 230!

CRF450X is lekker beheerbare fiets.  Throttle control. Draai net derde oop dan het jy 230cc.

I just could not resist responding - I was searching for CRF230 brakes or front shock mods & found your article.

That bike in pic seems to be a Hunter CFR250 - a bad Chinky copy of the CRF230 Honda.
A few years back I almost bought one, but luckily I procrastinated long enough to find out more.

I bought a Honda CRF230 in 2009 (used 2007 model), roadworthy.
Have been doing some mods since to make it a dual sport bike used for trips to Lesotho. (been 4 times from Durban deep into Lesotho)
I really cannot fault the Jap design - it is a good entry level bike & really reliable with very little maintenance required.

Hope you bought something you happy with.
