DRZ universal screen?
« on: August 05, 2013, 11:18:46 am »
Heya guys,

So I am thinking that adding a universal screen, handle bar mount type, might be a good idea to help buffer some of the wind for the amageza and also protect the roadbook / ico / gps.

Any one using a screen or have any advice? I figure the taller the better

Get a Dakar's screen

Get some copolyester ( Perspex) sheet from Maizey plastics and using a sand bag and a heat gun make your own screen.

You should have a look at the Kappa KA660 Universal screen. I have one on my dr650 and you can adjust it every which way. Trevor at adventure rider in Nortgate Estate sells them.

DRZ400 screen idea
« Reply #12 on: August 22, 2013, 08:59:08 pm »
I've just fitted this on my neighbour's DRZ, a screen that is designed for a DR650. It is yet to be tested on the road.
Tell me what you think:

The little protrusion at the bottom of the screen is a bracket for a 1000 lumens LED mountain bike light, riveted onto the light cowl. We had to make a cut-out in the bottom of the screen to fit over the little bracket.

That looks cool.

When I still had a DR-Z I fitted a GS 650 Dakar screen to mine - worked great.

Chuck Norris said you should just man up and not bother with a screen.
I crash test all of my safety gear. Do you?
