Whenever I can, I ride!

I enjoy week long trips on dirt. Reality for me is doing mostly 1 or 2 day sleep over trips.
Not very into a day trip (Leave in morning return home  same afternoon). Daar moet darem n dop&tjop aand wees.
As time washes by, our footprints are all for naught

Is that on tar or dirt road? 500 km on dirt road is not short for me.

Did not buy the 1200 for commuting but still enjoy doing so on Fridays
I do a breakfast run every week
Longer full day rides and overnighters are limited to one per month
5 days and up will be limited to how often I can get away, probably twice per year.

I commute, basically every day, do my grocery run, fetch parts for the shop etc.
I do day trips, do longer trips but try no to do more than 200 - 300km per day, on small dirt roads, the smaller the better.
Transcontinental, gosh, why do only others win the lotto?

All solo, Mrs. Le Cap has her own bikes.

Since I commute & shop with the bike almost daily I had to tick "commuting only / mostly". I unfortunately can't afford to do a transcontinental expedition every day :-\
It should maybe read "I ride whenever I can and wherever the road takes me"

"Long distance (500 kms plus per day) longer trips (week plus)"

To do 500km plus per day on gravel every day for a week plus is tough

I ride every single day, unless it's raining hard. To work, the shop, and trail ride a lot. I live in a place where there are lots of trails, quite technical stuff, right on my doorstep, so I will often do a ride on the spur of the moment. My bike never stays clean! For that reason I have a small light bike  :ricky:

Love longer trips as long as most of it is on gravel. Don't mind tar but not as enjoyable.

Like trips that are difficult or serve up the unexpected. Tweespoor, trail, watercrossings etc.

I commute a few days a week.  about 10kms along the coast.
I do day-rides a few of times a month.
I try for an two-nighter every month or so
I aim for a long trip - 5 days plus - about 3 times a year
I ride through the former Transkei about 6 times a year. Kei mouth to Pumula, the last ride I went via Queenstown for fun. why 'cos I have a GSA LC that's why!
I have an GS800 for short and technical trips and a GSA LC for longer 2 up trips.
longest trip in one day was a 1352kms two up ride and when we stopped at 15:00 we nearly got going again.
Did 7500kms on the LC in April and 2500kms in the same month on the old GSA.

FACT: If my wife let me ride her as much as I am allowed to ride my motorcycle, I’d be home right now.
