"WA competitors Paul Nappy, Vern Strange & Andrew Perry wore Ivan Erceg’s bike number 19 today as a tribute to their good friend and many riders wore black armbands. At the end of Leg 4, Ivan was 18 hours ahead in his vehicle class so as a measure of respect for his performance, Paul and Vern continued to check his card in at time controls to give him a ‘win’."

The conundrum that is life...
You have to be absolutely smashed to have the guts to attempt it,
But perfectly sober to achieve any success!

And this, which is too cute for words:

"This is our dad full of steam, he has just done the Australasian Safari as weird as it may seem.
To us he is our hero even although we don't know the rules of this crazy sport Which makes him beam. Well done Dad, u make us proud!!!"

From Glen via FB:
"Bombing down a Western Australian beach earlier today, hoping that my tooth fillings aren't going to fall out!!!   :imaposer:
Leg 7, and race done. 18th overall in bike division, my best result to date. Who says that racing can't begin at 50?"
