Tuesday noon, after checking out the eastrand eyecandy at the Sondagkoerant's Que Sera jol, we idled along the railway line back to Boschkop. In the shade, we found Whaleson and Minxy with her Pegaso overheating. Recurring problem throughout the mornings ride. We confirmed water level etc and found that the waterpump intake and outlet pipes were ambient, thus possible thermostat problem. This a not an area to be standing still, so we opted to make it back to a friends (Leon) place 3 kays down the rode. Overheated again. waited etc. The thinking was to trailer the bike from there to Minxy's house, Now leon being an aircraftbuilder of note, started stripping the Pegaso as soon as we stopped with a  nervous owner looking on. Long story short - removed thermostat and was dry as a nuns c...  kurkdroog. Airlock then. Bleeded the system and started up. Motor healthy & as the fan came on, we notice a small amount of water escaping somewhere at the top of the radiator. This would have required some serious stripping and seeing that Minxy confirmed that she noticed higher than normal temperatures during the past few weeks. They opted for a rustig ride back home and 20 minute later Whaleson confirmed all's well and safe.
2 things - never stop, unless in a large group, in the Kleinfontein, Boschkop area alone and secondly, bloody well done Minxy for eyeing your temperature gauge as whilst riding - you saved a motor for sure.
