Alternative route to Cape Town

Hi. Looking at riding down to CT at end of year. Any ideas on alternative routes to keep off N1 pls? GS bikes so good dirt good. Tks!

There are lots of options, for example through Christiana, Douglas, Prieska, Carnavon, Sutherland  but the condition of some of  the roads can change from gravel highway to impossible when rains.
Why do things that only happen to stupid people always happen to me?

Where are you starting, and how long do you have to get to CT?

Wld be leaving from Pretoria East & thinking about 4 days. Biking in SA new to us so any help much appreciated. Thank you.

Here's a scenic route, but for longer than you planned. I havn't ridden it, just dreamt. Use bits of it if you like  :thumleft:
