About two years or so ago Pebbles' was the first of the radiators on the new shape that sprung a leak on a nice long trip, meaning the bike went on a trailler hundreds of kilos from home, close to Vanderkloof dam.
Go forward to early this year and Cave Girl's KLR radiator goes on the last day of a two week trip. Another KLR on a trailler with a leaky radiator.
This weekend it was DieselDawie's turn, another leaky radiator.
Apparantly he's not the only one either, he told me about a couple of his buddies who's had this problem.
Dawie reckons it's because the radiator is used as a mounting point for the plastics on the new shape KLR, and I must say I agree. We are now going to look at doing a mod to take the weight off the radiator. (The radiator was a mounting point for plasics on the old shape too, but the plastics was a tiny piece back then, not the monstrous thing it is now)
What say you people out there?
