Ha ha ha !!

Made it back safe in 3 hours , rain all the way !!!

Bike preformed well , suspension , brakes , handling all awesome .

This is genuine a legende bke

Only issues I had was :

1. Number plate broke off
2. Exhaust baffle inside broke and is loose inside
3.Bike stood in rain last night , this morning it statetd easily and afther about 50m it started to back fire and starve , after a few starts All was good .
4. Spedo cable stopped working on the way back ( i suspect water , as it was moer wet )

Awesome HK - maiden trip is important. I think I lost 2 or 3 number plates off mine until I made a permanent fix with a smaller, albeit illegal, one. Exhaust is a real easy fix as it is just a weld at the outlet that is loose. Speedo could be water I guess or dirt on the magnet pick up on the front wheel ... or worse case scenario you have lost the magnet which is replaceable.

Yip I agree its minor , now I have a few things to do this week

1.Fix exhaust
2. Replace spedo cable ( first to find one )
3.get smaller number plate
4. The try to get the Airbox open - 2 bolts are striped - any help here wil be appreciated
5. Do a lube service.

OK - shit that is a common problem I hear. Luckily not had it myself. Essentially the bolts get over tightened and the threaded brass insert spins! Early advice is always to coat the bolts with copperslip but this will not help you. Once you get the bolts out there are a few fixes - one is to apply a small hose clamp to the plastic stub to tighten and hold the insert another is to drill down a few holes next to the insert and fill with epoxy or Q-Bond. To get the bolts out I have heard that a drill in reverse with the appropriate 8mm socket attached can work - evidently the spinning heats the plastic which then grips the brass ferrule. Search on Cafe Husky as well documented there.

I will help you with the airbox. Removed mine from the bike and used a soldering iron to enlarge the area around the brass inserts then used epoxy to keep them in place.

With the speedo, check the wire close to the dash, mine broke off there as the forks move up and down, the wire broke close to or at the little white plastic connector thingy. Just soldered the wire on and this time tie wrapped it so it does not bend there all the time. Quick fix if that is the problem.

Leo Vince, can get one in Milan for 300 euro, here they are ripping us off as usual.....if you ride a bike or go camping you will be ripped blind in this country of ours! I just gutted my Husky can and shortened it while I was at it. 50mm perforated pipe and some pot scourers...... Sounds really loud, even taxi's get out of my way!

Had a look at Leo vince was about R 6500-00 and Stealth R 3500-00 . So I am fixing mine !!!

It took me 2 hours to get the tank off and fix that bloody airbox !!

When I was about to put the tank back found the culprit that got wet an gave me some trouble the other day

Any idea on how to fix this ?

Went to look for a spedo cable. , but nobody has stock and must be ordered . 2 weeks .

So I found a broken one Hennie gave me and just cut off the bottom piece and joined it to the current cable and it works !! So this will do until the new one comes
