Yes, yes it's been a long time coming (before all the Beemer knockers get their ,05c in) and there has been some collateral damage along the way....but at long last the Software Upgrade/Fix is here to remedy the pinging/detonation problems that some people have had.
Basically if you bought a R1200GS or GSA on or after 020107 please book it in (preferably with us hehehe) to your local Dealer for the software upgrade.
My advice is get it in timeously as possibly there were more than 10 GS's sold in that period and the download does take a while so try not hang around for it.
As it is a Warranty upgrade there is no cost to customer.
Hopefully this will put paid to all the anti teutonic comments posted ;D
