From fB 22 minutes ago: Fanjan Combrink Marshall Team One and Media Team One en route to Special Stage. Low cloud cover and light patches of drizzle sure to help keep dust low and sun out of rider's eyes. Media Team One.

Last rider should be leaving now, so I can show you all the day's route - well at least a vague version of it.

And here is the Laingsburg View point

Hope someone gets to use this. If you leave now you could still get there in time....

Just spoke to Alex. All the riders have left, and he will leave shortly in the chase buggy. The rule is that if he catches you, you're out for the day.

Wow that's kinda hectic. Only giving the tail guys 15 minutes grace...

I see andrew #106 has stopped for fuel/a beak in Caledon He has been riding just under an hour.

The lead tracker on Rudi Neetling # 101 was is either delayed or has a very long relay period....because he is showing behind Andrew's tracker.

I can watch the front rider using a rather expensive satellite tracker, various marshalls using sat phone tracking, a few riders using an Android app, but the most useful so far - the Apple App that Kamanya is using.

30 minutes grace is not too bad I guess. Unless you have a flat tyre :P

We also have our first recorded nav error of #106 ;D

Well Jan #114 did not make the same mistake, the two are still 8 minutes apart. Not that its important on a liaison.

The front rider is being tracked with a small satellite tracker. The update rate can be set, but satcomms is expensive so it is set to once every 10 minutes. It has true global coverage. Extremely cool piece of kit, this thing. One day when I chase BlueBull as he rides Dakar, I'll stick one of these in my pocket so my wife can see where I am.....

Why is your tracker of Jan red, Steve? Are you running some fancy software?

I think (?) it is because I am tracking some of the marshalls as well, but I'm not sure.

Can somebody maybe supply a tracking link/app. For Clutch #122. I've got his password and username but don't know which app to use.
