Paarl Mountain Reserve 13th Jan 2008
« on: January 14, 2008, 11:09:39 am »
We were going to reccie some roads in the Wellington Area so I thought we would do Paarl mountain reserve also.
We didnt want too many riders with us as were didnt have a definate route.
Anyway it was, Keithk,Topbox,Mountainboy,Gogirl and myself XT.(no reply from Mark Hardy or Wes and Briv couldnt make it)
We left at 07h35 from the Richwood Total garage and went via Occudale road through Slent rd and on to Paarl.
I have been up the Mountain a lot in past years, but not recently.
The others had not been up at all.
First corner,lots of marbles,sand,and sand road errosion,but luckely,no casualties.
It costs R20 per vehicle and R5 per person to enter the reserve.
Well it was such an enjoyable ride, that we went in there at about 08h30 and only got to Breakfast/lunch at about 11h45.
We didnt even get to Wellington.
Steep up hills and steep down hills, but absolutely stunning views.
Here are my pics.

02/02/12 - RIP Glen - the Arrow of Elliot and the little man with the big heart that truly was larger than life.

You have touched us and left us better for having known you - even if it was only briefly.

For grabbing the moment and living the day It's been way too early that you were taken away

There sure was a lot of territory marking :P :D

Looks awesome - aren't we blessed to live so close to so many cool DS riding options in the Western Cape ?

After negotiating the Paarl mt. we all barring Top Box popped in to see Mrs K for some light refreshments ?

Then it was back to negotiating the Steep driveway at Keithk all the WD's lending a helping hand for Go Girl (at attention)

All smiles
