Saturday we went up Katberg Pass from the back.  Good luck to those who did the real pass  :deal:

David (Non-WD), Garvin, Petr, LanceSA and me left this morning with Vis and some PE WD's to have a coffee at Baddasford, but they were closed and only open later.

The planned route was to go back to EL via the Double Drift area, but I did something wrong, like sooo  :deal:   :deal: many times before.  We ended up on the other side of the tar road, but we enjoyed it until we ended up at a road that says "Private Road".  At that time we saw that Garvin has a leaking fork / shock and we headed for the closest tar road.  He and Petr left and the other 3 of us went onwards with our journey.

Here are a few photos of the weekend.

What a view

Ant on top of Katberg

As Vis said - very slippery  :o  ::)

Will do more pics later, but had to share this for now. We rode home through a couple of game farms today and at the last one, where we go visit a friend of Tiger8's, I get my first pic of Buffalo oin the wild. Man, I was so chuffed.  Full zoom with my little mik and druk. I need a decent camera.  :dousing:

This is the best I could edit it.

Jups, those buffalo are actually Black Wildebeest

Looks like you guy's had a great time,
All I can say is sniff sniff   I wish I was with you all, but sometimes one has to do the family thing,

P.S
Drazil the way you catch fish, looks like they may become extinct soon.
My biggest worry in life, is that if I die before my Wife, she will sell my biking gear based on the prices that I told her I had paid for them.

For the most part Tiger8, his M8, Ant, Serry, Lyn and I rode together. Great company.

1. Early Saturday morning and the donkey is chomping at the bit

2. Getting together

3. There's a spot on the way to Grahamstown where you'll always see giraffe in the early morning.

1 & 2. Vis Arend takes us on a round about to the venue with some great views.

3. A stop near Post Retief to look at Piet Retief's house. Don't know why but its as good an excuse as any for a smoke break and to look and talk about our bikes again.

Next day home and Vis first takes us on a ride over Ford Fordyce, great views again, and also shows us this magnificent oak tree. It must be very old.

We split and our little group proceed on a nice ride through the Koonap and tthen through eZulu game farm. Lots of game, but not easy to capture them.

Plenty of buck, wildebees, antelope, a rhino and a baby, Buffalo(yes that was Buffalo on the ridge, its just a bad pic), hippo and plenty of warthog of course.

The last pic is crossing the Fish river where we saw the hippo swimming up in the river

And that was it... home. Thanks to our riding buddies and all for a great weekend. See you next year, same time , same place  :thumleft:
