Can I lend you a tow rope Frankmac?

Really sorry to see you guys battling, DL and trust the rains will soon bring welcome relief.

The bloody cloud which followed me gave off a few drops in Nieu Bethesda and then pissed down in CT on Thursday night and Friday morning.

It was actually startling to see how the landscape from Elliot onward through Dordrecht etc changed radically from lush green to a parched landscape

Lyk my selfs die weervoorspellers is gesnoeker.  Tot vanoggend 06h00 was daar voorspelling vir so 3mm reŽn hier.

It's been a long time since I visited your thread, Dorsland. I'm both saddened to hear that the rains have been so distant, as well as encouraged to see how the greater your trials are, the greater the faith that rises within you.
Here you are at the source of our food chain, watching it take life and form, or suffer and die. This can surely only increase your faith or increase your bitterness. Thank God you chose the former and not the latter.
As I've said before, farmers are the greatest unsung heroes of our time. Every time I see a field under cultivation or a herd of cattle at pasture I say a prayer thanking God for the farmer.
Dear God, send the rains!

Hell Airguitar, nice to hear from you again! You have been almost as scarce as the rain jong.

Thanks for your always kind and encouraging words and your prayers. I guess everything in life has its trials and tribulations but waaragtig this drought tests one's faith.  It also puts one in your place again and proves how small a gear we really are in the greater scheme of things.

Don't be so scarce now OK.

Lyk my ons gaan volgende week reŽn kry. Voorspelling is vir Maandag, Dinsdag en Woensdag.  Ons glo en bid hy sal val.

Diť weer is eienaardig deurmekaar.

I'm working in Luxembourg now and don't spend much time on the forum, but I'll try to be a more regular visitor.
I miss South Africa terribly and only consider myself to be an expat and by no means an emigrant.
I want to grow old with the smell of the red earth in my nostrils before the rain starts and the sounds of our fauna and flora around me.
There is no equal in the world.

Thank you for the poem. It beautifully encapsulates the farmer's life!
Sterkte, be safe and hopefully before too long I'll point my front wheel up your driveway.

Merry Christmas!
