I've not received anything yet, but I am interested to see when it does get here as I am registered owner on 3 cars (2 kids) and a bike that use the e-toll roads very irregularly - like one gantry per week.

I wonder if they'll send a demand for R3.21x2=R.6.42 by registered post, or if they'll wait until the end of the month before sending on all four?  :deal:
Q Surely they must send you a seperate bill for each vehicle,  I also got a sms alledging I owe them R360, so then the Q comes to mind which vehicle where, I can not validate the claim so therefore I can not pay.. (need a detailed invoice to check..)
Challenge = Innovation = Change

I've just received an sms form scamral, claiming I owe an amount of R149,04.....
 Questions:
A).. Which vehicle was it? (I have 4 vehicles registered in my name)
B)... Which gantry/s was the transaction done? .... I haven't been in Gauteng for nearly 4 weeks.
C)... How did they get my cell number?.... or is this just random "hoping- to -get- paid" by scamral?
D)... Is it in fact my vehicle in the first place? (received fines before, claiming my vehicle was caught speeding.... upon investigation, it wasn't even my vehicle....cloned number).
E)... I recently bought a vehicle from someone who emigrated... How can they prove that it was me, or the previous owner? I want dates, times & gantry names where the transaction was done.

Send me an invoice by post with the proof of my above questions, and I will consider paying.... actually not.... I have not registered for e-tag, so there is no contract! Faark you Scamral... I WILL NOT PAY! >:(
I live in my own world...
But it's ok... they know me there!

He, he, he! They're really getting desperate.

Fin24 is posting more and more news items on the negative aspects of this idiotic system (they would probably post positive items as well, but what positive news is there?). Scumral are caught between a rock and a hard place - they dare not change their course of implementation because of the negative impact this will have on the anc before the elections, and even after, they would lose too much face if they abandoned this corrupt / moronic system in favour of something economically viable. In the meantime, they carry on with threats and intimidation. They cannot succeed!

We're in for some fun and games even before the elections!

I have to ask, How do they know they are sending their mails/SMS to the correct mail address and that youre actually receiving it. And taht its even supposed to be yours and not Mr Pompies?? If you have never confirmed your mail address or Cell number with them? how can they possibly use those mediums as legal communication???

There was an article posted somewhere earlier where they were challenged for lying in these threatening emails.

Non-payment is NOT a criminal offense, just like nonpayment of your Foshcini account is not a criminal offense.  The AARTO act specifically decriminalised traffic offenses, and etolls apparently falls under that act.

It was also pointed out in the same article that SANRAL had no right or powers to stop anyone.
