I got some invoices but not one had any photo evidence.

Not even one.
I will be sending them back asking for proof of vehicle.

I got some invoices yesterday, also none had any photo evidence ...
Call Centre insist that I need to "create VPC account" on their website to view images - this requires MANDATORY info such as Vehicle Licence Number, RSA ID No, Cell phone or Email address - guess it's not gonna happen!!

More interesting was the actual documentation that I received via snail-mail:
  • Transaction Report & Invoice for 03 Dec 2013 - vehicle 1
  • Transaction Report & Invoice for 04-06 Dec 2013 - vehicle 2
  • Statement of Account for 03-06 Dec 2013 - vehicles 1 & 2

Not too alarming, except that I received 4 copies of each of the above ... that's 12 individual letters posted to my home address!!!

Dunno how SCAMRAL expect to make any profit at this rate of inefficiency ....  :o

But you dont have access to internet and dont know how to use it  :pot:

Eczacly, my personal opinion as well, they will go after the trucking companies with large bills, then every now and then try one of the small accounts but the rest will be left well alone as it would cost too much to collect small amounts. They will rely on the tagged ones to show sufficiant turnover to line the pockets. Same as the fines, they are happy to collect 32% of the fines sent out, why bother following the correct procedures on the rest. As long as there are idiots out there willing to fall for the discounted amounts to"save" they are happy!

I save by not paying anything.

................behalwe waar jy is!

Quote from "1 million motorists refuse to pay e-tolls" :

1 million motorists refuse to pay eTolls

"There are still people asking what to do if they receive a SANRAL invoice..

Every single invoice and statement that SANRAL has sent out to date is incorrect. You do not have to pay. IGNORE IT.

According to the National Consumer Commission SANRAL demanding payment without giving users the chance to query bills was "not proper practice''. The onus is on Sanral to prove that a motorist had traveled on a specific road at a specific time.

In other words the invoices have to contain time and date stamped photographic evidence of EACH AND EVERY gantry pass, not a single e-Toll invoice conforms as they only contain three images of a SINGLE gantry pass, some have no images at all.

IGNORE ANY AND ALL CORRESPONDENCE FROM SANRAL!

That is all... please share.

possible 1 for the bank, ask for your date and time stamped pictures, then wait, and when you recieve those, say oh by the way, can I please see all relevant calibration certificates ect.. and proof of serial no's for each camera to ensure the pictures haven't been doctored.

Sure a person is entitled to that asa who says they don't just manipulate the dates ect..

They still have to prove that it was you/your vehicle. With the substantial amount of cloned plates out there I would still like to see them do that.  :thumleft:

No successfull prosecution will ever come from this. Leaving white powder anywhere is no crime if the powder is harmless. I will defend this oke for free- it should take less than 5 minutes of my time

But the bomb threat is unfortunately against the law....

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

surely not if it can be proven that the intent was for it to be confused as anthrax?
