Hi all,

Sorry to keep you all waiting, i thought id be able to post each night as i went along, but as those of you with experience would know, its virtually impossible, what with riding on into the night, adventures galore, and meeting people along the way. :-) Hell ive been back a while now, and its only now that ive got some time and , precious little at that, But, ill give it a go and start :-)

Ok, so where o start, let me begin by saying that wild dogs is the most awesome (i dont know what you call it) for adventure riders, there are some really awesome people here, and as you will see later, i wouldnt have been able to do this without there help, now normally the credits role at the end, but thers nothing normal about me, so ill begin with the thanks.

To Jupiter, without your help this trip would not have been as awesome as it was, your knowledge of the karoo is fantastic, and you certainly sent me on the right path, so much so that every day was just better than the last, and i couldnt beleive such was ever possible. We have to meet one day !! I certainly understand why your heart belongs in the karoo.
To Casting from Turd, what a saviour, the help and opportunity you afforded me to repair my bike and carry on going,, saved the trip for me!!, what an awesome place you have, and ill send everyone i meet yourway :-), i hope too see you on the road soon!!
To Veldbrand, your support of the wild dogs is something to behold, i can only see your place going from strength to strength, my most comfortable night of the whole trip :-).
To Daskop, my riding buddy for a few days, what can i say, we had an awesome ride together, your spirit epitomises the wild dog ethos, long may you enjoy your riding, and im sure we shall meet again :-)
Finally to all the wild dogs that have wished me well, thanks, im sure in some way it all helped to make an amazing trip :-)

Right so onto day one,
I left straight from my work and headed off towards Matatiele , avoiding tar wherever i could, about 20km into the journey i was on dirt :-), the adventure was finally real :-).
Some pics along the way,

Day 1 dbn to matat Ok the plan for the whole trip was to ride as much dirt as possible, tar only in the case that there wasnt a dirt road available, so the routewas picked with this in mind, and it didnt dissapoint I Hit the dirt 40km into the trip, found a stunning road going out from umzimkulu, first bit new tar, lots of tighy twisties, second part awesome gravel through the forrests, and i made a mental note to bring my riding buddies here one day. I didnt have time to explore all the little roads, and just followed the pink line on the gps, something that i was going to get quite used to in the trip :-) I arrived at the Matateile caravan park quite early, the gravel roads being easier than i had thought, or rather lets just say the KTM just ate them up. Seing as i had got there early there was still light to go explore the area a bit, Kevin the owners son, suggested i take a ride up to a dam up in the mountains above the town, so i offloaded what i could and headed out. I dont know what it is about the mountains in this area, the colour or shape, but the scenery was stunning, and i had a great time belting down the track until my first off of the day :-). Approaching the dam i was reading the sign, and didnt see the wire strung accross the gate posts until i almost hit it, not wanting to go over the bars, I put the bike down as gently as i could and the front wheel slid under the wire, no damage to the bikethank goodness, picked her up and took a pic, whew that was close.anyway i couldnt get any further, so i turned arround and headed back. Once back at the campsite, Kevin and i went shopping for some meat for the braai they were going to have that night, three other riders were arriving later. The guys arrived a bit later, bikes on a trailer, they were going to play in lesotho for the weekend, they invited me to come with, but nothing was going to detract me from my adventure
