IMPORTANT :  If your bike is not on the list , you won't be able to obtain a quote and get insurance on the proposed Wilddog Insurance Scheme.
Reason: We must provide the insurance company with a list beforehand.
Only the bikes on the verified list will be handled under the insurance scheme.

Honda CTX200
Honda NXR125

At least 7 NXR's on the forum I know about.

and why would you even want to insure a 200cc bike?
they are cheap enough to purchase with cash (so no financing needed) and your excess will probably ALWAYS be more than the damage

trailrider/Eisbein - your thoughts?

The price for a new CTX200 is R27 000 and you can get finance on it.

Why would you not insure it comprehensively?   ;D ;D

Idea is to get a comprehensive list - its everyone for themselves if they want insurance or not

Both my CTX and NXR is insured comprehensively at the moment.

A 2008 NXR costs R18500 and can be financed. It's not an expensive bike but lots of people would not like to loose R18k.

Maybe I'm missing the point. Just thought I'd help in light of Operators post.

Funduro?

Know it has a smaller diameter front wheel (as does the later GS (not Dakar)), but surely this would still class as a DS bike?

(BTW, BMW doesn't even list this model in their insurance list - only start with F650GS. Can just see the insurance boys saying "sorry, you lied about your bike model so we won't pay out..." So not insured with them.)

Hey guys, please add my KTM 525XC to your list. They retail with full factory road kit (licenced & road worthy), and have a standard 19" front wheel.  ;D

Note: the 525XC is not the 525EXC enduro bike. The XC (otherwise referred to as the Desert Racer) is 100% dual sport.

KLE250?  Is there such a thing?

Are the KLX 250 and KLX 650 roadworthy?

Add Honda CTX200 and Honda NXR125

Sorry, but I beg to differ.  A dealer here in PE have two KLX 250's on the floor.  A very lekker street legal trail bike.  In fact Mountainboy was going to take one, but rather opted for the Honda XLR.  Are grey bikes then excluded?  If so I am afraid my Djebel 250XC is also going to get the chop - it is manufactured exclusively for the Japanese market.  Exported as the Suzuki DRZ250, albeit with a different headlight and tank.

No, you're right Watty, grey d/s bike must be included, but lets just stick with the known ones - we can always add one to the list before we cater for all the other models.

If a KLX 250 is available - lets add it to the list.  Donno about the KLX650 though?

Also cater for 'other d/s bike' and other non-d/s bike'
