GS Adventure Sidecar Karoo ride video
« on: December 30, 2013, 06:05:28 pm »
This video is of a short trip in the Karoo from Nieu Bethesda to Murraysburg on some awesome dirt roads and tracks and then on to Graaf Reinett via tar.
We passed farms with names like Groen Vallei, Water Kranz and the like. The Karoo is semi desert and normally quite arid but it has seen a lot of rain this season so far as can be seen from the many pools and wash aways on the vid.
We saw 9 tortoises on this ride - all in great condition I am happy to add.
Sidecar Sally was my monkey for some of the way but I had to get out of the driving seat for some time so that she could have a go on the GS too... I made some video...

Enjoy...

Baie nice Ryno. Lyk na 'n moerse lekker ride!
You know you've landed with the wheels up when it takes full power to taxi to the ramp.

Ja, it is amazing to watch peoples reaction when they see us on our sidecars. Most people do not realize what a sophisticated machine a sidecar really is and all the aspects that have to be considered when actually building one. But man when the whole rig comes together like what happened to this 1200 GS and all the aspects have been considered like the steering, sidecar and bike suitability in terms of weight, height etc, brakes, sidecar setup and alignment etc you really have a true adventure machine and in most cases you can ride a lot faster than on two wheels (unless you are Jan Staal or similar) with loose sand, mud and river crossings no longer being a problem.

This Adventure sidecar handles like a dream and you can ride and play all day with out getting the least bit tired!

Serious adventure riders should seriously give sidecars a go...
