Africa holiday

So I read daskop,s  rr and it is great, but time does not let me get away from the business for that long, especially not on a klr. I can just about get to Springbok and the it time to turn around.

I did a fly venture to zambia a few years ago, really enjoyed it as it was my first holiday in 10 years. But also realised that I was being ripped off major.

So how can one visit The places in africa, without being a tourist from usa where you pay in USD.

You self-drive, and you stay in the cheaper motels, and you buy food from the side of the road or local shops. Stay away from the big tourist traps, and it can work out pretty reasonable.

I did a 3 week trip with the missus and the landy in 2010, Botswana, Zim, Zambia. Total cost including fuel was about R20k.
Young enough to know I can, old enough to know I shouldn't, stupid enough to do it anyway.
