?? offroadbike trail venues for newbies

We as a family is looking for trails to ride but we are new to the game, did 4x4 ing but the kids want to have fun on there own, (18,25)
We stay in harties area but dont know the nice riding places, riding is the way to really learn to ride.
YZ450R,CRF450 and TTR230 for now, still waiting for the wife to decide what she prefer.

Ek het ook vir jou probeer search, maar daar is n paar brakke wat dieselfde vrae al gevra het. Maar met lee antwoorde sit!! :pot:
Pak maar op en trek af Kaap toe, hier is die honne baie meer aktief en doen ding of gee jou raad!

Family Adventures does weekend rides and day rides every month. Next ride is the Waterberg next weekend. Suitable for all riders. check out their website on Familyadventures.co.za

If you come to the "berg" I will show you stacks of good, scenic rides. Enduro riders park and ride from my place every Sunday and some Saturdays.

wakkerstroom sal geboek word vir 28 feb, ek het n mail gestuur so wag vir meer info, het ook gesearch vir brits omgewing, dit lyk of dar n paar opsies kan wees.
Het ook op ADASA.co.za ride training afgekom en dink dit is n plan, hulle is gelee by pecan wood sekant.

Difficult to give advice without knowing what your skill levels are.

Wild West: Have not been there but heard it is rocky hills and not for the novices.

DeWildt is a magic place. We go there often. You can change the route to suit the skill level.  But don't go alone, let someone show you the area.

De Wildt 4x4 track and De Wildt for the bikes is not the same place. 
The latter is about 20km north of the 4x4 track between Ga-Rankuwa and Mabopane

Hey

Wild West also has a short Blue (newbies route), it does have a couple of small rocks though.  

De Wildt is bikers heaven - there are miles and miles of track to go and ride - from very easy to full tech.   Rather ride from the Maroela Casino - the terrain (depending on the route you take) is more suitable to new comers (compared to riding from the Cop Shop) and the facilities are better.  

MuddX does intro (to De Wildt) guided and marshaled newbie rides from  there.  Contact Steve Lauter steve.lauter@iafrica.com for more info.

Also check on http://www.e-dirt.co.za/forum/ for  info.

But head the warnings - it is a big area and you can get lost very easily.  Take a GPS/water (plenty)/tyre sealant/tow rope and the required tools to fix your bike.

If you do not come right, I can go show you the area 8/9 Feb.  Let me have your e-mail address and I'll send you the way points for De Wildt.


I can really recommend ADA, the training is worth it.

We ride most Saturdays from Marula Sunn, best to start early as it gets hot. The group is intermediate to fast. I will how ever gladly show you the area and basic routes if you want. Remember De Wildt is a large area, one must have some level of fitness or you will suffer! Our normal ride is about 90km with a stop in the middle for refreshments....no beer you will regret it later..... :ricky: :ricky:

A good idea would be to first do fitness and skill test run at Wild West, they have a blue novice loop and a pretty fun red loop, stay out of the "tecnical koppie" and you should be fine. If you can not finish the red loop, well then some more training might be in order..... :thumleft:

Maar dink bike ry sal die rubber arm draai. Ek moet maar eers sien wat gaan by die huis aan as ek donderdag land en daarvan af beplan
