Need Of Insurance Advice
« on: January 26, 2014, 09:37:45 pm »
Hi,

What company would be recommended for insurance on a bike for someone who is under 25? ??? The cheapest I have found so far is R523 a month for comprehensive cover from Dearham :deal:. Are they any good?  :lamer:

Be careful:  most insurances don't have cover for 650 and above if you are under 25.  Even if you are stated as the regular rider.  trust me read the small print.

My son was the regular rider, with full name and date of birth next to each other, in the small print he was excluded, and I had paid them for years and years; been there done that.  insurance fraud, and thousands get caught each day, hippo company the worst.  and a standard 2.7i bakkie also was excluded as they say it is a high performance engine.  found out the hard way, its in the small print.

Also most insurances do not cover you, unless you are on an "official" road, dual bikes be aware. some companies even exclude gravel roads!!

get it in writing and still read the small print, every time I received a update the small print was changed.  so read in full, every time.

Cool thanx  :thumleft: I eventually found a company; Quicksure. Bikes are on my name and my DR has the gravel part included. They advertise on this forum, so hopefully no bad news and hopefully I never have to claim.

Only from reading on this forum here, today (various active insurance-related threads now), that apparently is not true at all, some even mention that they, after several claims, are deadhappy with them!

@Skimnerf , you plaster your unhappyness all over several threads here, a bit preemptive I think because your story seems open still - why not contact RobD first?
If you still feel that way after having had a discussion by all means, but right now I think it is very unwise to shoot them down - and yes, this is just my opinion, same as yours is yours, and we both are free to mention such here  ;)
Goodluck in any case, I can wholly see your point also!
