Also a good idea to find out who maintained and serviced the bike . Too many times okes who shouldn't even be allowed to operate a microwave try and work on their own bikes .  :P

Valid. I know a lot of guys service their bikes either with a friend or a "mechanic" they know, to ellude the "rape" on the labour cost at the dealers. Then again so do many people with cars after a warranty has expired. Nothing wrong with it. But once again I think we can safely say that there will be telltale signs of a backyard job vs. a guy who knows his stuff on an engine. I think the forum is also a good advert for guys who service bikes and if you do service privately and can proudly recommend the mechanic, please do so.
I am probably a good example of a guy who does not know sh..t about engines but realise my shortcoming and rather take it to a reputable dealer to service.

Motor bike batteries can cost you an arm and a leg at the bike shops. Go to battery centre and ask them. Far more reasonable. My BMW 650 GS battery at the bike shops was R 650 a few years ago and I bought one from battery centre for R 130. Slight saving????????

Support the Dogs and by your bike batteries from Dixon Batteries. Normal lead acid or sealed gel - full range proper OE batteries, not cheap immitations. Great service.  :thumleft:
