As a motorcycle mechanic, Jurgen will have more experience on this topic than me, all I can say is that I have never seen this problem of cracking cyl. heads on the Yamaha XT350.

If it helps any...I have been riding my XT 250 for the last 12 years on the farm with only punctures to fix. The same bike with just a smaller head...

All in all family wise we had 6 - never ever had any issues  ;)

No happy button - turn throttle twice - choke - kick - RIDE  :thumleft:

I wouldn't tour with it but day trips were fine and light and nimble  :deal:
