Me and a couple of friends have a Whatsapp group for random rides, so if you're sitting at home on a Friday night or whatever and suddenly feel the urge to go for a ride the next morning, you simply say in the group where you will be leaving from and what time, and any available riders just pitch up and go with you, whether you know them or not. This is a little simpler than using the forum as all riders are not always viewing the forum. It works great for us and the most fun rides so far was the unplanned random ones.
