Down the dusty roads we traveling and decide to stop and have  a cold one, oops sorry a smoke break  what was I thinking ???take a few more pics.

Dam but this country is beautiful.

Cruise on and see this sign Sesriem 180km.

Well that aint to far, so we take in the sights and such and another smoke break and by this time im parched, so I dig out a nice cold one for us to share.

ďSee a smoke break.Ē
Told you ous so.

We eventually stop and turn on to the C27.

The road is a pleasure to ride with some spectacular views. Ian stops to take some pics whilst I cruise on as im having a ball on these roads.

Unfortunately it is short lived as it turns into a nightmare as the bloody corrugation is back with a vengions, agga no man these ous should grade these bloody roads better as they donít seem to agree with me. We some how miss the D707 and end up at this possie.

Fill up our bikes have a cold one and a smoke break, take a pic or two and discuss how the road turned out to be so shitty.]

Check out this local ou, just kipping away in the shade and who says it isnít a dogs life.

Corrugation still hasnít let up and its getting worse, our average speed is 90km so we stop for some short breaks.

Lucky we aint got far to go as Solitaire is our destination for the night, so cruise along just checking out the possie, at least this section aint to bad as every now and again the road becomes smooth, so I decide to stop and take a few pics and let Ian catch up to me.

Some more scenery.

But ya fate has a hand (or should I say a Knee and a Arm) to play. Now an old rugby injury has started to catch up to me and all this corrugation is starting to take its toll on my knee and its starting to hurt like hell, so im actually trying to put most of my weight on my left leg and its throwing my balance on the bike out. I can also see that Ian is trying to ride one handed as if his arm is sore but as you ous no, we are dinosaurs, we are bikers we are WD we are moerse tough ous so we push along. Come down the road and find Ian waving for me to stop, We came to this place in the middle of no where. La Mirage and desert Spa.

Of course all the WD know that the only reason to have "cold ones" was to ensure that the dreaded disease of dehydration did not set in. I am so glad your took medical advice and avoided the disease.

Great RR and looking forward to more

Not a nice disease to have and the withdrawal systems are even worse as they tend to lead to forgetfulness and mi judgement and head aches etc.  Glad you enjoying the RR. The  :ricky: will continue a wee bit later

We have a chat, his arm is hurting as well as my bloody knee so we discard solitaire with the hope we can get two rooms here for the night.. Ian goes in, luck is on our side once again, so we get rooms for the night.
A bit pricy but well worth it.

Check out these moerse mooi rooms and I havenít even got a women with me to aah!!! Fetch me some cold ones (he he)

They have quad bikes for hire, hot air balloons, game drives.

]

A swimming pool and most important of all ďCold OnesĒ for us weary travelers.

ďCheck out this sceneryĒ mooi ne

Unpack the bikes, kit in room, wash out socks . Short pants T shirt and plakkies on, I go to verken the joint. Find the pool.

Yes the gods are once again smiling at me, they have this possie called a bar right by the pool. A ou can buy the daily essentials there after a long trip. Cold ones and oh other stuff to drink as well. Well who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth so I amble up to the bar counter and order a cold one which didnít last long so I had to order another one.

Now you can imagine how chuffed I was to find this place, thought of going to call Ian , decided against it as I was worried that they didnít have enough stock on hand and that some other thirsty ou might get there and drink up all the cold ones. A few cold ones later I felt much better as the dust from Ianís bike finally washed away. Jumped in the pool to wash away the outer dust, just about then along comes Ian so we of to the bar so that he can also wash down the dust, think I still had some dust in me so had to make sure and had a cold one or two with him. Dam I liked that place.

The two injuries that caused us to stop over.

Ianís arm is not shaping up too good and neither is my knee, we both on antiflamatries and pain pills.

Had a magic supper. 3 course meal, relaxed, talked some kak had a cold one and off to sleep, next morning a lekker breakfast, packed up and ready to go.

But first as we were not riding with colors on, club thing, we had to take a photo of the flag just to piss the ous of and to make them lekker jealous. Ian is one of the first 9 members of the club.

Oops almost forgot to mention Yes I organized some stock for the road, canít make the same mistake twice now can we?

Oh yes, some idiot had tuned us that Solitair had no petrol so we had filled up one of the portable bladders, for just in case. Cool it takes 7lt.Mmm, lets a ou think of all sorts of possibilities. Ya right I know what you ous are thinking. ďShame on you ousĒ, I was thinking how handy it would be to carry extra water with incase we needed it.(thatís my story and im sticking to it)

As is customary by this time we stop a few more times for the customary aah smoke break and a few pics.

We reach Solitaire.

Nice place, all these old cars and gootes. So with a cold one in the hand im of to go and verken the joint and to take some photos.

Meet these german ous in there 4X4 plus trailer who could not believe that we had just about every thing on our bikes that they had with them. Extra fuel, tents, water, food. Compressor, tow rope, sleeping bags, stretchers, gas stoves, braai grid etc and most important of all Cold ones.

So here I am busy doing my thing when Ian calls me. Three guys had come over to check out my screen less XRV

Ian was tuning them how I took this lekker fall in there part of the country, (dam my pride really starts to take a knock as these ous are having a good laugh at my expense) then one ou slaps me sommer on the back and tunes. Hey man donít worry Namibia aint Namibia if you donít come off, and hey ive got a buddy whoís got a wind shield for an ATV collecting dust in his garage, so his on the phone and this guy phones that guy and a few calls later its arranged, they have got me a screen, to top it all as we going to stop over in Swakop they know another guy whoís going down that way and will sommer deliver it the next day to us. Now they even refuse payment for it, so after a lot of bantering we finally get them to accept a case of cold ones.
Now money had no meaning to these blokes, but there faces sure did light up about the cold ones. Gives a guy this warm feeling to no thereís other ous out there who enjoy cold ones as much as I do.(once again thanx guys)

So we once again in the saddle and eventually we see more more lekker scenery so we stop for a aah smoke break and some water, Ya right and we take a few more pics of our travels and the mooi scenery.

Along comes Ian flying like a bat out of hell, Nah!! He was just cruising slow and enjoying himself

Didnít even wave hallow to you ous, some times this buddy of mine aint lekker, I scheme I must have a talk to him and explain that you ous are uintlik nice ous, I mean how must you ous feel now, reading and checking out all the lekker good we doing and you ous arenít and then he doesnít even gooi a greeting, almost just like a , No No I cant say it ok ok I will, a not so nice ou that doesent greet other riders.(he he)

And then just to make the club ous a bit more groon with jealousy. (he he)

Hells bells Allen, I am not a huge beer drinker but all your talking about 'cold ones' has made me very thirsty now. I am now going home to have a few! Will be thinking (drinking) of (on) this trip of yours. Great RR!
