A man has been left in a critical but stable condition after his motorcycle apparently hit a pothole on the R24 after Magaliesberg.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene to find the biker lying on the spine board, already immobilized by provincial services, complaining of severe pain. Paramedics assessed the patient, finding that he had suffered severe injuries to his chest, right shoulder and right knee.
ER24's medical helicopter was called in to assist in rapid transportation of the patient to a hospital in Johannesburg.
Witnesses stated that the patient was driving when his motorcycle apparently hit a pothole, cause him to lose control of the vehicle.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate.
